I’m aiming for better performance without breaking the bank. I mostly enjoy titles such as Destiny 2, GTA V, and BeamNG.Drive.

Your budget for a CPU could be around the Ryzen 5 3600 or 3700 range. However, a Ryzen 3 2300X remains a solid option too.

We haven’t determined the motherboard yet. This information is important for figuring out suitable CPU upgrades. With an unclear motherboard, it’s likely a CPU upgrade could also need a new motherboard, adding $65 to $120 depending on the CPU price. The 8-core 3xxx models might also benefit from faster RAM as well.
