I recently installed a new CPU (AMD Ryzen 7 5700X) to swap it for my Ryzen 5 3600. I’m facing problems getting it up and running. My motherboard is an ROG Strix B450 F, which I updated before starting the upgrade. I have an RTX 3070, a month-old NVMe SSD, 16GB RAM, and a 750W power supply. After fitting the new CPU, the green light on the board indicates a boot issue and no display output. I’ve verified all connections, re-seated the RAM (not the GPU), cleared the CMOS, and plan to revert to my Ryzen 5 to isolate the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

It might be a seating problem with the cooler; I’d attempt to reposition it before reverting to your previous CPU setup.

It seems unclear what you meant. Could you rephrase your request?

I attempted that already, here are some ideas to double-check your understanding.

Verify your CPU installation, ensure it's correctly placed. If everything is in order, reinstall the previous CPU and update the BIOS to accommodate the new one, then re-flash the BIOS.

I put in my previous CPU and am still facing the same problem, so I don’t know what to do next.

It powers up and checks systems, possibly showing fans at full speed, emitting beeps or flashing codes to indicate status.

Everyone is active—GPU, cooler, case. No sounds except the motherboard lighting up in orange, then red, white, and finally solid green.
