I wouldn't recommend this setup for Windows 10. For better performance, consider adding an SSD and installing a lightweight Linux distribution.

It's similar to setting up Windows, with some learning to adapt. A solid score shows your skills but isn't mandatory. If you're not aiming for higher education, consider a polytechnic and a computer systems or networking program to earn a recognized credential.

Having a certification adds value honestly. It shows you possess the right knowledge and it's always beneficial. By the way, if you're looking for a Linux distribution to try, Pop Linux is a great choice. It's an Ubuntu-based system that's very user-friendly. You can find more info at https://system76.com/pop. It was developed by the team at System 76, a company specializing in Linux machines.

I’m choosing Linux Mint on a budget 120GB SSD. I’ll also install an extra 1GB DRR2 drive.

Thank you for your feedback. I value your insights on A+ and the benefits of polytechnic courses. I’ll keep them in mind as I think more.

You can't jump straight to Windows 7 from XP. Vista acts as a bridge. Upgrading involves going through XP → Vista → 7 → 10. Even during the 30-day trial or with the watermark, you still require a license key.
