Microsoft doesn’t provide updates for newer processors and drivers could be missing. Consider switching to Linux if you prefer not to use Windows 10. I explored that option and felt really satisfied.

You might consider running Windows 7 inside a virtual machine using a hypervisor. It could be slow and complicated, but it might function if you truly need to use the older version.

Win7 works well with Vista. I can manage the resource demands, even on Atom laptops. However, I don’t use Windows.
