Upgrade Windows 7 to a compatible version on your L340 gaming laptop.
Hello there. I just wanna know how I could downgrade my Lenovo L340 Gaming (2019) laptop from Win10 to Win7. After all i've tried checking on my BIOS options which there is only OS customize (yes and no), I tried to turn on legacy boot, still it gives me Not fully ACPI compliant bsod after when win7 logo appears when i wanna setup. I dont know if its my motherboard or anything like that. I just wanna get to Win7 setup, And i don't care about security as Windows10 is not a great OS choice for me.
If Windows 10 isn’t suitable for you, you shouldn’t have purchased a current laptop. Windows 7 lacks drivers for hardware in a 2019 device, and the makers haven’t released them either. If your system experiences a BSOD during startup because of a driver problem, you’re in trouble.
To create a Windows 7 USB boot disk and install it properly, I suggest avoiding Windows 7 altogether. It poses risks due to security concerns and driver issues, as well as compatibility problems.
OP has started to the Windows 7 setup but keeps getting BSOD, probably because of driver problems, which makes sense given the age of the OS. It’s not surprising if a 10-year-old system struggles on today’s hardware.
Hey, think about buying old PCs from 2018-2017 that might run Windows 7? Yeah, I’ve attempted a Win7 USB setup, but it keeps crashing (BSOD) and isn’t fully ACPI compatible.
It seems Kaby Lake is no longer supported on versions 7 and 8.1. I don’t understand why Ryzen doesn’t support it either. I just want to avoid using Windows 10, but 7 isn’t a viable option.
Sure, I think that's the case. I've enjoyed using Windows 7, thanks to its nice features like Aero and lower resource usage. That's why I prefer it.
7 offered some value initially, but it has since turned into a sluggish, insecure, and overly bloated issue. At this stage, it resembles Vista 2.0. No matter what, it won't function properly on your laptop, so you might as well adapt to 10 instead.
