Hello everyone, I recently purchased a used laptop around six months ago and noticed my license is about to expire. My version remains active, but it's a kms version. I've tried various solutions except paying cash, which seems like the next step I might need to take. I'd prefer not to do that. I do have an OEM key from Win 8 RTM Core Single Language, which I obtained using ShowKey Plus. Can I downgrade to Win 10 Home and retain all my files and programs?

What's the issue with kinguin? It seems like you're asking about a problem or concern related to kinguin. Could you clarify what exactly is bothering you?

Grey licenses are the ones Kinguin offers. These are OEM copies that they remove, and not all of them are genuine. Buy from verified sellers only. If you buy a license for less than its market value, it’s likely questionable or grey.

I acquired three licenses on kinguin, and all three units are functioning perfectly. One was bought two years ago and still performs well. Besides, the only issues I’ve encountered were with a license that didn’t work in a situation where the seller had very few ratings—most were negative. When you check during purchase, most sellers have over 5,000 reviews with a high average rating. That seems impossible if they were intentionally misleading. The low prices come from international license bundles that cost the seller thousands, while also providing them with many Windows copies. I think Linus mentioned purchasing one of these bundles in a video because he noticed the deactivation process after hardware changes. Even with a faulty key, if you take advantage of the 1,000-dollar warranty, you’ll get a hassle-free refund within 30 days. I disagree with the idea that they’re somehow “grey.” They are genuine OEM copies, so Microsoft might not offer technical support. Still, I often reach out for help with these licenses, and they consistently assist me.

It’s described as a grey license. It could be viable, but you might not always receive the lowest possible price.

Looking at the "market price" for a 64-bit Win10Pro OEM copy in Australia, the base cost starts around $209 AUD plus shipping and handling (PCCaseGear typically offers the best online prices for PC components in Australia). Additional costs are roughly $40 AUD, with optional protection available. I’m considering purchasing from Kinguin again if I need to start fresh with a new Windows 10 installation, especially since I haven’t faced any issues with my previously bought keys on Monsuta. In reality, I own two other 64-bit Win10Pro keys—one upgraded from Win7Pro OEM and another from Win7Ulti OEM. Both were legitimately bought from PCCaseGear, and I’ve heard the rule that OEM keys can only be used on a single system configuration. At the time of building Monsuta, I didn’t plan to modify a Win7 disc, patch it for X99/Haswell-E, or burn it to a blank drive, as I wanted to upgrade the Windows 7 installation directly to a fresh Windows 10 setup using a USB drive.
