Hey! You're currently using an i7-2600 MEDION micro ATX with MSI GeForce GTX 660 and a couple of storage devices. You're considering upgrading but have a budget of 512 euros this month. You're looking at two options: the RTX 3060 or the i5-10400F cooler with 16GB DDR4 memory. There are also some SSDs and a case to think about. It sounds like you're weighing which upgrade would give you the most benefit right now. Let me know if you need help comparing the options!

The 3060 would face a slowdown due to the 2600, resulting in roughly a 30% drop in performance. I’d hold off until you reach around 1k before proceeding with the upgrade. Cheers.

What kinds of games do you enjoy? Are you also involved in performance-heavy tasks like video editing, 3D modeling, coding, or other productivity work? If you frequently play high-FPS competitive shooters, a CPU upgrade might be more beneficial. (I’d steer clear of the Q300L due to its limited cooling and opt for a lower-wattage PSU with superior components instead of a 750W white.) For games that require high resolutions or settings, a GPU upgrade would be more advantageous, though I’m unsure how your current PSU would handle it.

It seems your GPU stopped working and you managed to fix it using your microwave, though it won’t last long. Your CPU has been experiencing frequent BSODs. You’ll need to upgrade at least one component. If the GPU fails completely, you still have two backups to continue coding. However, you don’t have any backups for the rest of your system.

I believe this could work well. I’ll search for a different case since I’m tight on budget (just $50) and have had no side panel in three years. Today I cleaned out my GPU after taking it out of the microwave, but it was covered in dust equivalent to ten discord data centers. I’m used to having plenty of airflow.

You can earn money by selling components or earning an additional $120. Check out this list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zYrTzf It includes 10 cores, a liquid cooler, and a top-rated case.

I can clarify the process in simpler terms. I used a microwave to power up my GPU, which is an unusual method but effective. For a better setup, consider the ASRock Steel Legend board, which offers solid VRM cooling at just a few dollars more.

I assume you're referring to a toaster oven.
