I'm using an old Windows 7 laptop that's slow, and I'm considering switching to Windows 10. Do you think Windows 10 consumes fewer system resources? I only have 2GB of RAM and a Pentium T2330 processor.

For smoother performance, continue using Windows 7 since Windows 10 consumes more resources. If you opt for Windows 10, think about purchasing a different laptop.

It's actually my mom's computer, and I could switch it to Linux since it's clearly better for the budget. She only needs Chrome, Photos, and Music.

Just do a fresh install of Windows 7. That is a super easy way to make an old computer faster.

I planned to switch to Linux because it uses less resources.

You'd need guidance on using Linux since it differs significantly from Windows. Setting up a fresh installation is crucial.

Sure thing... it seems like you're thinking about getting a new install. That's a good idea if you're still learning.

I rely on an older laptop for everyday use. I get the point about the RAM constraints. If more memory weren’t an issue, I’d recommend a complete Windows 10 upgrade. A Windows 7 version would work well with just 2GB of RAM.

Here’s the list:
- Other software needed: Not specified

Let me know if you’d like me to proceed with anything else.
