Upgrade to Windows 10
Are you thinking about moving to Windows 10? Your current setup is Windows 8.1 with a Pentium B940 processor, 2 cores, 250GB storage, 5400RPM HDD, 8GB RAM (max 1600MHZ), and a 1333MHZ clock speed. You mainly use the web, take online classes, and attend webinars. Consider upgrading if you want better performance and future-proofing.
I recommend sticking with Windows 8.1. It still receives extended support until January 10, 2023. Based on my experience, it runs more efficiently than Windows 10. If you want to save costs, consider a SSD such as the WD Blue SSD.
Windows 10 works well with 8GB RAM. You can always upgrade later, and it’s essentially free to use. Avoid buying the retail version—it’s not a good deal.
