I’m looking to switch to Windows 10 but have some concerns. My notebook runs Windows 7 Ultimate, which has been useful for six years, but Microsoft is stopping support soon. I didn’t complete the free upgrade time, so I’m unsure if I can do it now. There are many online guides suggesting a free upgrade, but I’m not confident about the process. The Pro version costs a lot, and I don’t want pirated software either. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, I’m planning to replace my drives, so this should be done on a clean disk—what’s the best approach? Should I just purchase a product key? Thanks in advance. DxDiag.txt is attached for reference.

The information in your DXDiag file is sufficient to run Windows 10, provided Dell offers compatible drivers for your device. People have shared different opinions about the Assistive Updater's functionality and whether you can activate Windows 10 using an existing Windows 7 key without a license. It’s unclear how this applies to Windows 7 Ultimate, but you can always purchase a Home license for Windows 10. There seems to be a need for Pro if certain features are required.

Microsoft permits updates. You can perform an in-place upgrade with the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool, or you can reinstall and enter the license code from your Windows 7 Ultimate.
