You're thinking about moving up from your current setup to a more powerful gaming rig. It sounds like you're aiming for better performance, especially since your CPU is limiting things. Since you haven't updated your BIOS yet, you might need to check the latest version before proceeding. Upgrading RAM and motherboard will likely require a fresh Windows installation, but you can reinstall drivers on your SSD if needed. A new Windows 10 key isn't mandatory unless you're switching to a different version. Just make sure your hardware is compatible and follow the recommended steps for a smooth upgrade.

It's not a great moment to switch systems. You probably won't need a fresh Windows key, and your existing SSDs remain helpful. Depending on the capacity and age, you might not require a new NVMe drive for top gaming performance. Let me know if you'd like to adjust anything! PSU details can vary based on your setup.

You're referring to the delay in upgrading because of possible BIOS updates. You're asking about the upgrade options you're considering.

I'm just wanting to upgrade my CPU / mobo / ram to better fit my 1080ti and to be a more balanced system when I eventually upgrade my GPU. I am just worried about compatibility, what happens if I just switch my cpu/mobo/ram and boot my pc?

Suggest a complete reset of Windows. Note your current key and input it during the setup.

It seems the PC might be compromised. You may need to purchase Windows again, as the original key likely doesn't work.
