So let me prefface: One of these might be an issue because I'm trying something stupid, but its still weird. I forgot the R7 5800x doesnt come with a stock cooler, so I tried to use my Ryzen 5 2600's stock one, I got thermal paste (Corsair tm30) and applied enough. I was assuming this would work temporarily until I get the rest of my new stuff on Thursday (PSU, Case, AIO). That's the context here's the problems: -Doesn't boot with more than 1 stick of RAM (DDR4-3000 TridentZ RGB 8gb sticks) -in BIOS the CPU temp steadily rises into the 70s and up -I can't boot into win11 to check the temps because of the TPM change giving me a PIN error, when windows prompts a microsoft account window, it says no internet connection. I am on a motherboard ethernet port. Motherboard is a asus b450m-a on rev. 3202. Haven't tried updating because I'm not sure if the Temp issue could even be remedied by that. PC Boots no problems with old CPU. (Currently posting this from there) Edit: Things maybe worth noting: I've tried a different Ethernet cable and reseating the CPU and Cooler.

Initially, your cooler might not be sufficient for optimal chip cooling. I understand if my assessment is off—please let me know. If it's the wraith stealth model, I wouldn't anticipate much performance. Still, consider reapplying thermal paste and reattaching the cooler.

For the RAM, a BIOS update could ensure compatibility with your new CPU.

Regarding Ethernet, you'll need to boot into Windows first to install the required drivers. Someone else should review the process in the comments, as I typically use my MS account or set up a local account (though I believe this remains a Pro feature).

I misinterpreted your error message. It seems you may have swapped back to an older CPU and need to disable BitLocker or similar encryption before proceeding. Also, the internet outage suggests the Ethernet chip's IRQs were altered during the CPU swap, possibly requiring Windows to boot again for reset.

I gave it another mount, but the same problems appeared—it’s likely not going to work. I canceled my AIO and have an NH-D15 arriving tomorrow. I’ll turn off logging with a password and check my settings now to find any other encryption issues. I’ll update as soon as possible.

The latest release notes indicate that win11 support isn't enabled by default without adjusting BIOS settings. Updating that could resolve memory and boot problems. Regarding temperatures, a better cooler would be necessary since the 5800X consumes significantly more power than the 2600 and the stock cooler isn't sufficient.
