based on your display and graphics card, intel could be the superior option if you want a complete package. referencing techpowerup's analysis and updates, intel performs similarly to zen 3 when paired with a tested 2080ti GPU. therefore, if you're using a turbo card or an older/slower model, a 5600x might not offer the best value. zen 2 and earlier ryzen components were notably weak for 1080p, and currently intel CPU+mobo setups are matching the cost of zen 2. in short, for cards like the ampere or rdna 2 (3070, 3080, 6800 xt, etc.), a 5600x is the optimal pick. for earlier or slower systems, an intel system (10600k, 9700k, etc.) would provide comparable performance at a significantly lower price.
I’d likely choose a Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) series processor. A 3300X/3600 should work on that board, and it might run smoothly without too many issues. It could be a bit tighter on the budget, but still offers solid gaming performance. What chip are you currently using?
