Hi, I've been using a Ryzen 5 2400G since its launch (without a GPU) and decided to upgrade to the newer R7 5700G APU. I have a X370 AM4 MOBO (GA-AX370-Gaming K5, rev. 1.x) and I read it on the manufacturer's site that with the right BIOS update (F51g or later) it should be possible to run the new CPU. I followed the recommended steps (F2 - F31 (+EC FW update) - F40 - F51h). After completing the updates, the PC booted into Windows 10 smoothly using the old CPU. Then I swapped in the new R7 5700G and began the boot process. The screen and devices activated, and in the bootloader I confirmed the BIOS version (it was F51h) while disabling any overclocking settings for the X370 Ryzen 5000. However, instead of launching Windows, a "Preparing Automatic Repair" alert appeared on my screen. The display went dark, power was cut from the keyboard, mouse, and monitor, but the PC remained active and didn't respond to the power button. I tried flipping the PSU switch several times without any effect. I also attempted to boot into a Windows copy via USB, but it produced the same issue—no blue screen appeared. Eventually, I switched back to the old CPU, and everything functioned normally again. I'm starting to feel stuck. Any advice would be appreciated?

I don't have those settings configured. I haven't performed any actions like enabling BitLocker, Secure Boot, or checking the TPM firmware. After flashing, I didn't trigger an automatic CMOS reset.

I've verified BitLocker in PowerShell (older CPU) using the command (manage-bde -status). Both SSDs were off. I attempted booting with and without secureboot and fTPM, but the outcome remained consistent. I disabled "security device support," though I'm unsure if this affected settings after the BIOS update—possibly it did. The CMOS reset occurred after I adjusted the CPUs. Also, I haven't uploaded the image you mentioned. This was my first message after changing the CPUs; with the old CPU I received a "Y" and booted fine, but with the new CPU it didn't boot at all.

I studied the troubleshooting indicators on the MOBO and noticed two points: 1) When secure boot and fTPM are active, it gets stuck at the first stage (as per the manual, this is the CPU). 2) If those features are turned off, it halts at the second stage which involves DRAM. I have a 2x8GB 3200mHz module that matches the MOBO specifications; otherwise, it wouldn't boot with the older CPU. In the BIOS, both sticks are detected together and separately, so they don’t appear to be faulty. My PSU is rated at 550W, which should comfortably power the R7 5700G and two 8GB 3200mHz modules.
