The 3600 offers better IMC for faster RAM speeds. While the 2700x is solid, I still prefer the 3600 unless core count significantly impacts performance. It also uses less power at 65W compared to the 2700x’s 105W. Choose the 3600—make sure your board’s BIOS is current for the best results.
A new issue has arisen... It looks like boards similar to mine dislike Zen2. The 2700X could be a more secure option.
I believe boosting the 1600 will make a noticeable impact, though the jump to 2700x won’t be obvious. It’s still a solid upgrade if you plan to use it for a long time. Zen 2 paired with DDR3600 RAM looks really good.
It's true. I recently tried it with my 3600x setup and got a bit carried away during the configuration. https://hwbot.org/submission/4285521_ Remember, this is quite demanding and you'll face significant challenges in regular builds without substantial risks.
At times XMP may not function correctly and fails to adjust the DRAM voltage properly. It seems to require manual setting of the DRAM voltage to 1.35, then testing if 3200 MHz works.
