Just acquired a used i9-9900k to swap in for my i5. After switching, the system failed to start and the VGA debug light lit up. Removed the GPU, which allowed me to boot and access BIOS. Restarted and reinserted the GPU—now it works fine. When I switch back to the i5, everything functions normally. Components listed: i9-9900k MOBO z390 Gaming Edge AC -BIOS VER 7B17vAA (latest), PSU SuperNova GA 550W Gold, RTX 2070 16GB Trident Z3600, CL6. Any suggestions on what might be causing the issue or steps to try? I’m hoping the CPU is still in good shape since the seller would have preferred PayPal and a return option.
