You should be able to retrieve the CPU, graphics card, RAM, and storage without any issues. It seems unlikely there will be anything else practical to use given Dell's tendency to use non-standard connectors on their case fans, power supplies, and front case headers.
At this stage, you can locate some excellent Z590 motherboards at a much lower cost than the original price. It shouldn't be difficult to reduce the build quality for a more affordable option...but I’d hold off until after Christmas unless you come across an extraordinary offer. Generally, with the late Christmas demand, selection and prices will likely be adjusted for those last-minute buyers.
I’d evaluate the conversion costs against the cost of a fully updated build. A 12400 is almost identical to the CPU found in the 11900K, and any higher-end models only improve performance. In my opinion, it’s worth looking into an AMD AM5 if I were to follow this path now.
Also remember, you might not be able to move your OS license off Dell.
I'm seeing other performance comparisons from different PCs with identical specs, all achieving around 1.5x my current FPS. It seems these models might have skipped some components like a better motherboard or cooler. Plus, I really don't like the Dell BIOS either.
That's a weak way to describe "performance." UBM is an imperfect instrument. The systems you're looking at were typically built to achieve high scores on UBM. Your software setup differs significantly. Every detail varies. If you disregard UBM, does this system fulfill your real requirements and expectations?
Don't let UBM be the reason you discarded a strong PC. I'm not very familiar with that exact model, but with Dell in general. Do you have 2xRAM available, and what is its speed? Also, what storage drives are they offering? Maybe it would help if you shared the UBM link if you're comfortable.
It's accurate. You can definitely exchange components to create a different configuration. I wouldn't overestimate the UBM's role. How does the system function in real scenarios?
