Instead of purchasing a used CPU, I plan to buy a new motherboard. I've observed that B660 models are pricier than B760 models.
I would still opt for a more affordable choice that offers medium power phases and VRM heatsinks, adequate for I5/I7 applications (for example: Gigabyte B760 Gaming X DDR4 - MSI PRO B760-P DDR4 or similar).
Can I purchase a B760, or would a B670 be preferable?
Do you have any suggestions for motherboards that satisfy these criteria?

I see no issues with B760.
B760 represents an updated version of the B660 motherboards.
They likely included necessary fixes and enhancements.
B760 is available in both DDR4 and DDR5 configurations.
Examine the motherboard closely. A superior design should feature VRM heat sinks and at least one 8-pin connector, possibly with an additional 4 or 8-pin port.
Check the back panel to ensure it contains all the USB ports you require.

A K series CPU can be used on a B series board provided it has a good VRM setup. I don't fully trust Intel's fix for the CPU overheating problems in 13th or 14th gen, so I prefer sticking with the 12th gen.

I’ve checked the B660 and B760 motherboards in top stores and am seeking your guidance on the best option.
The aim is to stay within budget while targeting non-competitive gaming with AAA titles, featuring an i5 or i7 processor, a 1440p 144Hz display, an RTX 3060 TI (with potential upgrade to a 5060 TI 16GB), and a 32GB DDR4 3200 SSD.
In my choices, I also considered the advice from these recent guides (1 and 2), leaving out the Gigabyte B760 DS3H, D3H, Asrock B660 Pro RS, and Asus Prime B760-Plus.
Following the recommendations, I searched for the MSI Pro B660M-A, but it wasn’t available (only the MSI PRO B760M-A WIFI was found for €136).
The Asus Prime B660M-A is also a solid pick, available for €107 or the Wi-Fi version at €112, which I prefer because of the complete heatsink on the VRMs.
For other options, here’s a price list in order:
