You have two setups: one with an Intel i5-3570K on the DH67CL motherboard and another with an i5-3570 on the MSI H61M E23 B3, paired with an RTX 580 and 8GB RAM. You're wondering if you can overclock the K model on its own board or which option works best with the RTX 580 for the smallest bottleneck.

Choose the board based on cost, as overclocking isn't possible on H chipset boards.

You can use the i5-3570K with an ASUS H61 motherboard, but the non-K version offers better performance. The K variant provides higher base speeds and better stability, making it a stronger choice for most tasks. If you plan to overclock the K CPU against the non-K board, the gains will be modest—typically around 5-10% in gaming performance. For non-overclocking, the difference is noticeable but not extreme; expect only a few frames per second improvement. If you're unsure, sticking with the i5-3570K now gives you more consistent results and easier upgrades later.

Confirming compatibility: i5-3570K works with H61 board. Power supply recommendation: 500W should suffice.
