Hello, I'm looking to upgrade the CPU on my Acer desktop from the i5-10400F to the i5-11400F. The main reason is to use faster RAM clocks. I'm unsure if this will be compatible since I don't have any newer BIOS updates beyond March 2021—the same year the 11th generation CPUs were launched. I'm hoping the experienced members of the forum can help me. My setup includes 16GB RAM and a RTX 3060 Ti. Thanks in advance for your advice. Regards, Marcus.

It should function properly unless restricted by CPU compatibility. Make sure to update your BIOS prior to changing the CPU.

With the newest bios release coinciding with the 11th-gen launch, it should simply trigger a switch and proceed. Upgrades from the 10th-gen CPU are likely available without restrictions beyond what's included in the system.

They possibly limited it to the 10th generation as mentioned in the bios. I should look up this information. If it doesn't appear, I'll proceed with the search.
