I’m currently using an MSI 570x motherboard with AMD 3900X and AMD 7900X, 64GB RAM, 2x 2TB NVMe SSDs, a 1.5TB NVMe SSD in a NZXT case with AIO cooling. I’ve faced performance problems such as screen tearing when using Vsync on games like Monster Hunter and Singoku Dynasty. Switching to just one Vsync resolved the issue. However, connecting my TV at 120Hz caused the system to crash. Some games lagged during longer sessions. In MSI Center, I encountered another problem with AMD software running two different Ryzen Master versions. After a clean boot, the issue reappeared. The Event Viewer showed an unexpected shutdown error, but it wasn’t as severe as before.

I suspect the CPU might be overheating and attempting an upgrade without replacing the motherboard, RAM, or CPU. It’s possible the random reboots are related to thermal throttling or a failing component. If you experience similar issues after hours of gaming, consider checking cooling solutions or upgrading components gradually.

STEAM OS worked well for the same games that caused the crash on Windows. I played Dynasty from around 7 PM until 4 AM without any crashes. Performance was solid during those sessions.

Have you experimented with running one RAM stick at a time?

The concept seems strong. Screen tearing often stems from low frame rates and insufficient refresh rate, not performance problems.

Your system might face some limitations, but it depends on various factors.

It seems the main issues aren't the GPU or fast storage, but rather insufficient CPU strength. The system could benefit from a more powerful processor. Switching to an AM5 platform would be possible, though it would likely cost more due to requirements for DDR5 RAM. A CPU with integrated memory and DDR5 should cost around $450–500.

You're asking about your PSU and confirming its quality based on your 7900 XTX.

Welcome to the site! I see you have a 850 PSU PNY XLR8 CS3140 with a 2TB internal SSD, Gen 4 NVMe 7500 Mb/s.

I haven't tried that. I might consider looking into it as well.

It's fine. Brand and model? Yes. For the shutdowns, have you verified temperatures and other details? You can monitor temperatures using this highly detailed app: https://www.hwinfo.com/download/

I monitored the temperatures to ensure they remained stable, following the NZXT guidelines which suggested a maximum of 70 degrees. It seems inconsistent, as it doesn’t always trigger crashes. This makes me suspect a software issue rather than hardware failure. It might be related to a recent update or software malfunction. I’ve tried running several games with shorter sessions; no random restarts occurred, and everything restarted cleanly with backups. However, I’ll need to investigate during an extended gaming session. PSU details: NZXT C850 - NP-C850M - 850W PSU - 80+ Gold Certified - Silent fan control, fluid bearings, modular build, sleeved cables, ATX power supply. I’m comfortable with troubleshooting but this case is puzzling.
