Purchase Windows 7 and install it. No free upgrade or downgrade options exist as with Windows 10. REFERENCE: Most affordable method is to obtain a key from Reddit softwareswap and build an installation USB using the ISO file available from Microsoft. (This should work.) With the direct download servers shut down, Microsoft no longer provides them. You can still find ISOs at http://www.pcsteps.com/45-download-windo...ally-free/

Reddit hosts a wide range of individuals, offering diverse perspectives... but I'm unsure about relying on others there.

Many users rely on Reddit for Windows keys, and most face no problems. You can purchase them from G2A directly, though it costs a bit more.

Are you using a laptop or desktop with Windows 7 preinstalled? You might be able to restore Windows 7 by accessing the recovery disk—this could be a hidden section on your hard drive or separate DVDs. If you still have the Windows 7 activation key, you can also obtain a new Windows 7 DVD and reinstall it.

Identify the drive with Windows installed. Obtain a copy of Windows 7. Install it following the same steps as for Windows 8.
