They often suggest the 3100 or 3300x, but neither significantly outperforms the 4770k—just around 6700k and 7700k. If you can get your i7 in and wait a bit, it might be worth it.

I understand the concept, though it seems like a lot of money was spent without much return. I think it might have cost around $20 to $30 and didn’t really improve things. Still, I don’t see it as a significant upgrade.

It’s already at 4.5, unfortunately I notice 60%-70% CPU usage during my regular daily tasks—just gaming and occasional work. The slowdown is clear and affecting my productivity, which is why I’m considering upgrading to a faster processor right away.

Take your time, the 3300x gain isn't as significant as it seems. You might achieve the 3950x without being overshadowed by many factors, and rushing for the next upgrade could be unhelpful if you truly need something better.
