Hey there! I'm just starting out and considering increasing the RAM from 4GB to 8GB on my old laptop for Adobe InDesign. The model I have is an ASUS X552MJ-SX042H, which isn't listed in any RAM recommendation sites. You can find more details here: https://www.mbit.pt/informatica/computad...gf-920m-w8. So far, the only change I've made is swapping in a Kingston SSD after an HDD failure. Regarding buying new RAM, make sure it's DDR3L and check if the speed (like 1333Mhz) and voltage (1.35V) match your current setup. If you want more performance, consider upgrading to a faster option. Let me know if you need more help!

It could be simpler to swap the laptop instead of searching for another 8 4GB SDR/DDR3L RAM module.

I can still find them online from Crucial, Kingston or Team. They support up to 1866Mhz, so I’m checking if that fits in my laptop. I’m considering an 8GB model since the RAM slot is empty instead of being permanently installed.

I checked the link you shared and it suggests that 4GB of RAM isn’t upgradable... Do you really have only 4GB installed in your system?

Sinto mal que tenha esquecido que o link estava em português. Há uma tradução na imagem que sugere que posso atualizá-lo alterando o cartão na caixa.

Task Manager indicates you require additional RAM and speed. I’m sure you can add 4 or 8GB, but if you get 8GB, only 4GB will be visible—be ready for that.

It seems like you're testing a setup and wondering about compatibility. Just to clarify, inserting a 1866MHz in a slot designed for 1333MHz shouldn't cause issues, especially since you're swapping all the RAM.

If your system supports 1333MHz, any higher frequency will operate at that rate. Good luck!
