You currently have 16GB of DDR4 RAM installed (two 8GB modules). You're considering adding a 32GB kit (two 16GB modules) that matches your current speed of 3200mhz. You're curious if both kits can run simultaneously on the same motherboard, ensuring identical speeds and brands for compatibility. You prefer matching brands over just matching speeds.

Ensure proper installation in the RAM slots on your motherboard to avoid issues. Refer to your motherboard's user manual for accurate RAM configuration.

No, not really. Just check if it fits your needs.

In theory it should function even though only 32GB will be in dual channel. Such problems aren't uncommon when using dual channel setups—whether due to varying stick capacities, speeds, timing, or manufacturer differences. The safest option is to purchase another pair of 2*8GB sticks, like the ones you already own. Exactly 32GB suffice for many tasks if you require more than that, provided you're confident it's necessary. Before doing so, verify your motherboard supports higher capacities and the conditions for it. If supported, consider buying two identical 32GB kits or a single 64GB kit.
