Hi everyone, I've owned my PC for several years now and think it's time to upgrade. I've been searching for parts and found the i7 11700K for the CPU, but I came across some really negative reviews. Is it that bad? What would be a better choice if it is? Since I've always used Intel processors, I'd prefer to stick with them. Thanks! Jasper

At this price point, the 5800x or 12600k are more advantageous options.

It depends on the cost and what you already own. The 11 series feels similar to the 10 series, but if the price works... consider the 12 series instead. Edit: Focus on high-end CPUs like the 5800X. Avoid those unless necessary.

You're still using an i7-7700K, which has performed well without issues. After a few years, you're considering a newer model. For the CPU budget, you're aiming for under 400 EUR (around 11,700 EUR in your area). You're thinking about the 12 series and wondering if a 12 series i5 could match or exceed the performance of your current processor after several years.

It's not that bad at all. Could you share more about the other parts and your responsibilities? For gaming, I use a 7700k and run at various resolutions. I play different types of games.

I've been doing well overall, keeping up with work lately—especially over the past couple of years. Right now I'm pretty set, but I'm looking to get back into gaming a bit. My setup includes 32GB RAM, an EVGA GTX1070, and an ASUS Maximus IX motherboard. For games, I plan to focus on battlefield titles (like 4 and possibly 2042) and GTA V at 2560x1440 resolution.

You won't notice significant improvements from upgrading the CPU in that configuration.
