Here are the relevant specifications for your current setup. I’ve mostly relied on a laptop over recent years, but I’m considering rebuilding it to improve performance. My workflow involves Premiere, Resolve, and Photoshop in that sequence. I’m evaluating whether upgrading the RAM to 64 or 128 GB would help, based on the bottlenecks I notice in Premiere. The main issues are slow Resolve encoding times, but I’m willing to wait until a full replacement.

Feedback on investing a few hundred dollars in RAM to enhance this system’s capabilities? Is there an option to buy RAM that will fit easily into my next build, possibly later this year?

Thanks!

In my opinion, there are some solid bundle offers currently available for CPU, Mobo, and RAM. Both Newegg and Microcenter have some appealing choices for AMD and Intel configurations. It might not be a bad time to think about adding a power supply, but I don't believe it's necessary unless you decide to upgrade your graphics card as well. Based on your needs, I wouldn't make that change just yet.
