I'm setting up my initial gaming PC with these components: Asus Rog Strix B550, Ryzen 7 5800X processor, Asus Rog Ryuo 120mm AIO, Samsung 980 Pro 2TB M.2, Gskil Ripjaw 32GB 4000MHz CL18, Radeon RX 6900 XT GPU, Corsair RM850 PSU, and two 140mm Corsair case fans inside a Thermaltake Tower 100 case. The AIO is configured for push/pull with two Noctua 120 no-p12 redux 1700PWM fans. I have three queries... Are the specifications adequate? Should I upgrade to 16GB RAM at 3600MHz with a CL of 16? And what cooling solution would be optimal?

There are no DIMMS in this setup. The calculation focuses on the components and their specifications rather than physical units.

Relies a lot on your tasks, I also have 32GB DDR4 RAM, and I use about 30% of it daily. Only high usage appears during intense memory work.

The two memory kits perform similarly in latency (typically around this value), so choosing a 32GB model would be ideal, though the 16GB might run better. The specifications look solid, but I'm unsure if the 120mm radius will suffice. Aim for at least 240mm of airflow. If the case offers strong ventilation, just using the standard fans and radiator fans should be sufficient.

It sounds like you're planning to use two DIMMs and should double-check their voltages during installation. I suggest going with the 32g 4000 model that has an 18ms cas latency. For gaming, prioritize memory capacity over speed since virtual RAM will handle much of the processing.

Most people who use Ryzen face the same problems—your performance will be capped by the FCLK, especially after 1800 or 1900 MHz. Reaching 2000 MHz is essentially a dream come true. Online discussions often suggest looking for a good DDR 3600 build and moving on.
