Hello everyone, as someone who flips PCs, I’m always searching for the best offers. I recently found a ready-built machine with an Intel Celeron G1820 (LGA 1150). My concern is whether I can upgrade it with a Core i5 or i3 from the 4th generation. Thanks, gamers!

The issue is whether the BIOS accommodates more than a Celeron. Some prebuilt units include whitelisted components, preventing installation of others. Check the manual to confirm if the same model can support additional CPUs.

Generally, you can switch to i3 and i5 CPUs without problems. Power supply becomes a concern if you exceed the usual 65w capacity, so avoid K chips. Certain boards may not boot at all with a K chip installed, which has been common in the past with Socket 1155 designs.
