Upgrade Motherboard, CPU, RAM and SSD
Hello everyone,
I’m planning to upgrade my motherboard, CPU, RAM, and install a new SSD. I’m switching from Intel to AMD and am unsure about the exact steps to avoid issues with old drivers. I also want to keep my two older HDDs and need guidance on backing up files from them. Additionally, I’d like to install Windows on the new SSD and understand how to remove old Windows from the HDD without errors.
Do I need to completely wipe my old HDD before installing new components? If so, what should I do specifically if I already have Windows installed?
Please let me know if these questions seem simple—I’ve never done anything like this before and want to follow everything carefully. I found some videos, but they didn’t explain in detail how to proceed.
Thank you!
install fresh os on the ssd while disconnecting all other ssd/hdd
When reconnecting the other HDDs, you need to eliminate the windows from the previous one.
You can check the budget and the country where you plan to buy. Do you own a dedicated GPU, or will using integrated graphics suffice? What are your primary purposes, and what do you hope to achieve while gaming? Which monitor do you currently use?
If there is absolutely nothing you need on that partition, you can delete the files individually or you can delete the entire partition.
It's up to you to know if there is anything worth keeping on that partition......personal files, bookmarks, email, whatever.
