I believe you’re asking if the amount of RAM needed at that speed exceeds what your processor can handle. It seems there might be a misunderstanding about the limits. Regarding your idea of replacing with two 2666 sticks, it’s worth noting that many sellers now offer only faster models, so availability could be limited. It makes sense to consider upgrading if you want better performance, but check current stock before deciding.

Now I understand better. According to the AMD spec page, the AF supports 2667 MHz in two channels, matching the AE. I wasn’t aware the CPU influenced memory stick count or speed. It makes sense the stability with two 2666 sticks. Probably because memtest86 doesn’t stress the CPU enough to cause errors, whereas WMD does? Since my docs confirm two sticks at 2667 are possible, I’ll order a 2x16GB 2666 kit and hope it works. Also, DISM.exe cleaned up some corrupt files during the restore, indicating the 4x8GB RAM setup might have been damaged on the first boot—very frustrating.
