Hi, I have Windows 7 64 Bit right now that I use mostly for gaming and I was going to upgrade to Windows 8.1 around December. Should I do this or wait until Windows 10 comes out next year?

The tech preview looks quite reliable.

It's too soon to upgrade yet; I think the Windows 10 launch is scheduled for February 2015. Maybe I'm mistaken.

Wait till 10... With the developer preview released right now, it's more ideal to wait. There is a rumor where Microsoft is going to giveaway 10 to 8.1 users, but that's pretty much horseshit in my opinion.

Check if the system can reliably run as your primary operating system.

No, the price at 8.1 doesn't justify it compared to 7. And definitely not for 10.

It might be better to stick with the technical preview until the W10 release? That could be a bit uncertain.

The issue with 7 is unclear without more context. Could you clarify what you mean by "7"?
