Hello everyone, I'm thinking about upgrading my gaming PC. Should I make the changes now or wait for the next generation components? I'm considering CPU, GPU, and building a new system. If I decide to upgrade, what part should I focus on first? My setup includes a 1440p monitor and I play games and stream simultaneously.

In your situation, I recommend holding off until the Ryzen 9th generation processors arrive, after which the RTX 6000 should also be available. Your current system remains solid and will continue to perform well for a long time, particularly at 1440p, or even longer if you're not a high-end gamer. By waiting, you might save some money to invest in better parts, upgrade your case, or opt for more advanced cooling solutions.

Likely the 5800x3D will be around 5800x3D now. We could hear more about the 5xxx series RTX later this year, though it's probably unlikely it will be released. If it does, we'll have the Ryzen and DDR5 platform. Until then, the 5800x3D will keep you going, possibly enough to hold on until the DDR6 arrives.

I play almost every game that releases...
money isn't a problem. I've already saved 4k.
I begin saving soon after getting a new rig. Then I feel confident about building another one.

You have the option to upgrade to the 5800X3D and possibly the 4080 super. What is the PSU model on your current PC? You can control streams using NVENC and manage Discord or chat via a send PC, perhaps a laptop.

It seems it was in competition with the RX 6800xt when it first launched, and now performance is closely matched by the newer 7800xt. Essentially, you’re still at a level similar to an RTX 4070. While upgrading is possible, it doesn’t seem urgent right now.

A CPU upgrade would help gauge your interest, as new CPUs are likely coming soon. Intel appears to be nearing completion of the LGA 1700 socket. Therefore, switching to a newer CPU on your current setup could provide an opportunity to reassess your preferences in the market.

the RMx performs well and shouldn't cause any problems since it's driving the 3080 without issues.
Running games and streams on the same PC using NVENC and OBS works, but I recommend moving Discord and Edge to a laptop because the 5800X3D has more cores than the 3900X.
You may manage to run everything smoothly on the 5800X3D if you keep all programs open. Monitor your CPU usage during streaming.
If your CPU usage is high, consider using the 7900X3D:
you could set up the game apps to utilize the X3D CCD through Ryzen master software.
