I own an HP Model 14t-bs000 laptop, a very budget-friendly model. It comes with only 30gb of storage and 4GB of RAM. The 30gb is insufficient even for updated Windows 10. I need more than that to run smoothly. I’m thinking about upgrading the RAM, which is currently a 4GB 1Rx8 PC3L-12800S-11-13-B4 (Samsung KONL0007492151CEC3). Is there an 8GB compatible chip available? Since there’s only one RAM slot, I’ll need a larger, matching component. There doesn’t seem to be a SATA port, so I’m unsure what type it is. Here are some pictures:

the link to the right in the second image is a typical SATA 2.5" hard drive port
you'll likely need a HDD/SSD holder to fit it into the laptop
hard drive holder
https://www.convena.com/en-gb/925354-001...dd-bracket
ssd holder: 925355-001
ram: what cpu are you running?

The connection on the left appears to be a CD bay area. Would it be feasible to insert one there?
Would this RAM be compatible?
You can check the details at https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct8g...ct13262047
Unfortunately, Convena.com does not deliver to my location in the US. I’ll search for an alternative source? =(
Could it be that the HDD I eventually receive includes a bracket, or is this not typical?
When examining brackets, I noticed many 2.5 to 3.5 kits which suggests a way to fit a 2.5 into a 3.5 slot. This laptop lacks a 3.5 port, so it would need a direct 2.5 bracket. There’s a metal bracket present, but it has a central metal tab and no screw holes, indicating it was likely just for support and weight.

You require 8GB DDR3 memory
-1600 S0Dimm (low voltage up to 1.35Volt)
DDR4 and DDR3 with 1.5V won’t function)
any of these should be suitable
https://skinflint.co.uk/?cat=ramddr3&xf=...~5015_1600
this laptop needs a particular bracket that matches this exact HP model. The HDD doesn’t come with one in the box. Typically only a 7mm to 9.5mm fit is available. You might attempt installation without a bracket to check stability.
It’s better to opt for a SATA SSD instead. It would significantly boost performance, for example with a Crucial MX500 2.5" drive.
Yes, you could mount a DVD drive there.

So I installed a HDD and CD-ROM drive, everything fits perfectly and I secured it. Now my issue is that the installed programs aren't being recognized at all—no power and they don't appear in the computer's hardware list. Why is this happening? The components seem present, but it looks like something might be disabled from the start. =(
