You're trying to boost your RAM performance but aren't seeing the results you expect. It sounds like you're using an XMP profile in BIOS, but not getting into the system. Check if your motherboard supports overclocking and ensure the RAM is compatible. Also, verify that your BIOS settings are correctly configured for XMP and that you're not running into any conflicts.
Are you referring to the specific stick sizes mentioned? (xmp)
The Dram calculator isn't a complete solution, so activate XMP. Set the RAM voltage manually to 1.35v and adjust the base frequency to 2933mhz. Upload the changes. If it starts up, that's acceptable. Modify the four main timings individually to 16-16-16-16 while keeping the rest unchanged. Restart at the new frequency with these settings. If it works, proceed. Raise memory frequency to 3000mhz and test on Windows. If successful, continue. Repeat washing and rinsing until stable.
Sure, NP. I'll keep an eye on things. If it doesn't work, we can pull more details from your memory and continue.
I also gave it a shot, but when I went past 3000 it wouldn't start. Used a 3600mhz with timing settings 17-21-21-21-41, and it worked. I'll check again soon.
So? Everything matches your setup, same problems you face. The DRAM calculator isn't giving any results; timings are extremely fast at 3600mhz. It's really hard to get anything done with these kits. I'm running on a 3700x with 4.35ghz at 1.4v and max load of 65c (144w) using an X570 Gigabyte Gaming X.
Aye, horribly binned ICs for sure. Here's a nice kit. Pretty fair price. Look really similar to mine. https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-16gb-288-...lsrc=aw.ds
