This summer Windows 10 is set to launch, and I’m eager to get it. But here’s my challenge: I’ll be away, using a laptop, and there’s no way to safely back up my data. My device is a GS70 Stealth Pro with three 128GB SSDs and an 1TB HDD, but I can’t open the back panel because of warranty restrictions. What options do I have? Thanks!

Save all important information to your hard drive. If there’s a loss of data on your SSDs, it would be less likely because the drive isn’t running it.

It seems you're trying to recall where the old files are stored. They might be in a directory named 'old program files'.

Consider cloud backup, external storage, or simply wait for an opportunity to upgrade your operating system. You won’t lose any files—just a minor update like changing Android or iOS versions.

I prefer not to receive another external drive, even though I require a fresh thumb drive following the recent lawn mower incident.

It's found in "Windows.old," though some folks worry about losing files. There were cases where users went from version 8 to 8.1 and lost their data.

I think I’ll try to save it somewhere in the cloud, though the connection isn’t great there. Even uploading Windows 10 will be tough.

It will be secure on your 1TB storage device, and nothing from that drive will be affected by the update.
