Upgrade from Windows 7 to 10 with Defender blocking RDP access.
Seeking a fix or alternative for the Windows 10 update assistant issue. After MS updates a Windows 7 system to Windows 10, Windows Defender defaults to blocking RDP. The challenge is upgrading over 100 devices and needing RDP access to start the process. Once upgraded, Defender restricts RDP until certain options are enabled. A workaround would be setting a custom configuration to automatically permit RDP after the upgrade.
This setting is typically applied across the entire organization via group policy or Active Directory. Making adjustments on individual machines can be inconvenient.
There might be a more effective approach, but if options are limited you could explore tools such as rubberducky which simulate keyboard behavior on USB drives. You'd set it up to log in and select the desired actions. If CMD allows firewall adjustments (I haven't tested) you could enable these functions via CLI commands directly. Just connect the drive and run the necessary instructions. It works well for admin tasks, though your organization might view it as risky due to potential misuse.
