You could likely upgrade from Windows 7 Pro to a genuine Windows 10 Pro using the key, but ensure the installation media is properly formatted and compatible.

You don’t have to set up Windows 7 for the upgrade. Get the Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft’s site and apply your Windows 7 product key.

It might be possible, but ensure you back up data first. Upgrading from Windows 7 to 10 Pro could resolve compatibility issues.

You don’t have to run Windows 7 Professional for an upgrade to Windows 10 Pro. Just install Windows 10 and use the Windows 7 key for activation.

Do you want the ability to revert to Windows 7 if you're not satisfied with the current version?

The internet is slow right now, making it hard to download files. I need to install Windows 7 before proceeding.

Under the install tool download button, explore the "Using this tool to upgrade this pc" section. It suggests upgrading from Win 7 Pro to Win 10 Pro. I recommend downloading it as well, generating a bootable USB for Win 10 Pro, and activating it afterward using your Win 7 Pro key. The process should mirror the standard upgrade, with Windows recognizing the key from your device. I activated my new version on a different machine using a Win 7 Home key from my dad’s laptop.
