Hey! I have a quick question. Microsoft claims Windows 10 will be available for free to anyone who owns Windows 7 or 8.x, but if you prefer to purchase it, the cost is $120. I’m currently using an unofficial version of Windows 7 and would like official Windows 10. The dilemma is: should I buy Windows 10 for $120 or upgrade to a cheaper older version just to save $20? Thanks for your help and any advice you can give. Also, my English isn’t perfect!

After ensuring your Windows 7/8/8.1 is current with all available service packs (unless you need to upgrade first), you’ll find an option to reserve a Windows 10 version. You’ll receive a notification through the Windows update interface. The free upgrade cost matches your existing Windows 7/8/8.1 edition. Windows 10 FAQs will be available soon, but it’s uncertain whether the KMS activator will function as expected based on early reports.
