Upgrade from Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional
Upgrade from Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional
I need to switch from Windows 7 Home Premium to Professional. I have 32GB total, but the premium version only supports up to 16GB. I want to add more RAM without having to replace everything. The standard upgrade option isn’t ideal since I already have many installed programs. I’m looking for alternatives that won’t require a full clean install. Any suggestions on what to buy and where to do this safely would be helpful. Thanks ahead of time.
Update the product key to a Windows 7 Pro version without needing to reinstall (upgrade or in-place upgrade works). Reboot is necessary. Could fail on original equipment manufacturer systems.
Your activation key indicates it's an OEM product. If so, upgrading would require a complete reinstall unless you have specific access.
Windows Anytime Upgrade, also known as WAU, was a tool in Windows 7 that let you upgrade without losing your files or software. But Microsoft no longer sells it, so it won’t help you now. For more details, check the link: https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/95...e-how.html Your only choice is to reinstall using a Windows 7 Professional product key and installation media, then install your programs.
