If you encounter an upgrade issue dropping from 8700k to 3900x, you might feel let down by the single-core performance gap. Wait for Zen 3 instead. RAM improvements have been significant over the past two generations—make sure you get the best option you can afford and enjoy the experience (just running RAM alone can vary by 5-10%). You can definitely do that now since you have a hero!

no unless you need the 12 core, the 8700k is still good, what made you want to upgrade? if you really want an upgrade wait for zen 3 and then decide if you want to switch to a different platform.

I think my RAM might benefit from an upgrade, but will it work with Zen 3 and DDR4? I’m okay waiting if it offers better value. I’ve seen a lot of CPU activity during Warzone and Star Citizen, and that’s the main concern for me. I’m aiming for a sleek build without RGB or anything too flashy—just clean lines and a neat finish. No need for a bulky case either.

Absolutely normal, that's expected. Just keep an eye on DDR5—it'll be available for a while before it becomes common. As I mentioned, wait for Zen 3 and see what improvements it brings, then think about moving to another platform if needed.
