What you need isn’t happening—it’s about figuring out what’s bothering your CPU. Or maybe you’re experiencing an unexpected issue with the upgrade…?

I often question this during long Excel sessions when massive files load and display messages like "calculating... 12 threads..."

Gaming will see a decline. Everything else will remain largely unchanged. Certain demanding CPU tasks, such as rendering, will get significant enhancements.

If you're experiencing the upgrade issue, think about other options. I was thinking about upgrading, but decided to use the money for extra accessories and screens instead.

That chart looks great, @zeusthemoose! Your PC is doing well—just consider upgrading to Zen 3 if needed.

I'm facing the same situation. The 4790K offers solid IPC but lacks cores for the best performance. Fortunately... the GTX1070 isn't a 2080Ti; the Nv3000 line is catching my eye, especially for video work and long-term CPU use. Still, the 2nd Gen isn't enough, and the 3rd Gen will cover it. I'm not worried until the end of the year.

Zen 3 offers improved performance and stability compared to previous versions. It provides a more refined user experience and better optimization for modern hardware.

I’m not sure what else to choose from. Everything seems fine with what I have. My setup includes a 4K monitor, wireless headset, wireless/wired keyboard, and a reliable mouse. The motherboard already has built-in Wi-Fi, so no extra card needed. I have 1TB of SSD and 2TB of HDD, which is plenty for storage. I’m thinking about upgrading the CPU for improved performance. Here’s my current configuration: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VThyRk
