My existing components include an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 processor with specific specs and a MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX motherboard. I'm upgrading to a B550 motherboard and PSU, but since the prices are similar, I'm curious if my current CPU will function properly on the B550 platform. I'm considering the ASUS TUF GAMING B550M PLUS, which supports Wi-Fi, M.2 slots, SATA, USB 3.2, and AM4 form factor.

It will function, though the processor won't speed up.

They seem a bit off about the motherboard; maybe the power supply is the issue. I'm planning to purchase both and test them to see if the hard drive continues to cause problems on my current PC.
