Yes, you can upgrade your Lenovo ThinkCenter M70q from an Intel Core i5 12th Gen to an i9 12900T. The system supports higher-end processors and more RAM options. Regarding maximum DDR4 memory, the M70q typically supports up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM, though actual capacity depends on the motherboard model and BIOS settings.

mini systems often use lower power CPUs for practical reasons. if the socket fits the new CPU, you could replace it manually—but you must verify the PSU can handle it. check the PSU’s wattage; for external Lenovo units, inspect the back like a laptop charger. if unsure, search online on Lenovo’s site for details on the CPU’s power usage. let me know if you need further clarification.

The 135-watt unit should work, but it might be on the lower side depending on your needs.

You should be okay with that processor. It might be better to slightly lower its clock speed for extra safety, but a 135-watt model would be fine.

It’s very improbable that any options exist for this on an OEM board.

The 12900T is available as a factory choice for this model, though the 135w PSU is necessary. It's possible they could use another motherboard or cooling setup when paired with top-tier CPUs.
