Upgrade CPU and RAM capacity.
Upgrade CPU and RAM capacity.
I'm planning to enhance my PC by installing a new CPU, more memory, and possibly additional RAM. I'm considering the i7 9700K and might sell my existing RAM to purchase new modules with greater capacity for future upgrades. When the NVIDIA 3000 series launches, I expect it to be around Q4, with specs similar to the Ryzen 5 2600 Aorus B450 Elite 2x 8GB Corsair Vengeance LX MSI GTX 980 Dark Rock Pro 4.
Black and subtle red highlights are acceptable, but for gaming an i7 9700k outperforms the r7 3700x.
No Aorus boards needed since the RGB software is terrible... I can't connect it to anything.
This board is also a great MSI MPG Z390, and you should watch this video.
So what's the deal? Going with the 9700K would trap you in a dead end, honestly—I don't see much value. Still, I think the 3700X might begin to beat it in upcoming games since they can utilize more cores and threads. Plus, I don't think a 2600 is limiting your GTX 980 right now. I'd just hold off if I were you and save some cash until you really intend to upgrade to Ampere.
