Upgrading your PC is on the right track. Keeping your 128GB SSD with Windows and moving the 480GB SSD alongside it should work fine for running games and programs. Just make sure the new OS installs properly and that you back up any important data beforehand. Copying AppData helps preserve settings, but ensure everything is compatible with the fresh installation.

Unlikely except for a Steam library, other programs will require reinstallation.

beforehand, copy c:/users and ProgramData (only programs you like to transfer, don't copy microsoft programs). Install the OS with the same Username and password. install steam. copy the backup users and appdata. no guarantee this will work on all games, some game have different folder locations. most games use only the users folder to store saves and temporary files. worse case, if all failed, you can just reinstall.

Great question! It seems to fit, especially if most of your apps function properly. You can use a Microsoft account on a new system without issues.

Register your username and password right away. Use them on the first login. Make sure the installers generate the folder at c:/users/yourname.

Avoid referencing system files that many applications depend on.
