Upgrade advice for Build AdviceSystem – next in line.
My previous setup had been upgraded to Windows 10, but they didn't provide a digital key for transferring the license to my Windows 11 version. This was quite annoying. I discovered a contact who offers discounts for Microsoft employees and is willing to assist in obtaining a copy of Windows at a reasonable price. Their rates are very affordable. I just wanted to confirm it's the full retail version, not an OEM one.
Fortunately, my MS Office 2016 digital license remained valid and was installable, which saved me some money. Now I'm hoping to secure MS Flight Sim at a good deal if that interests me.
An inplace upgrade from 10 to 11 should have functioned properly.
If the older system wasn't compatible with Windows 11, was the Windows 10 license tied to a Microsoft account?
If yes, it might be possible to transfer it to new hardware and then upgrade to Windows 11.
However...if you have a valid, affordable option from a Microsoft employee friend...opt for that.
