I used your suggestions about five years ago for a project and I'm heading back to continue working with them. The details of what I currently have are listed below:

Case: NZXT - S340 Elite (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case
Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-E GAMING
CPU: i7-8700k
Memory: G.Skill Trident Z 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3200
Storage: Samsung SSD 970 EVO 1TB
Storage: WDC WD10EZRZ-00HTKB0
Power Supply: SeaSonic - FOCUS Plus Gold 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti

Since then, my family has expanded, so the PC is no longer focused on gaming. I now have kids and schoolwork, but still enjoy gaming when time allows. I also like to experiment with hardware.

After a period away from gaming due to a more demanding job and larger household, I’m not very familiar with the recent upgrades since 2018 or their prices. I’m hoping to upgrade to something under $1,500 if possible. One of my main reasons for returning is that I was able to play Cyberpunk without issues, it was fully optimized, and now new content and DLC are arriving. This made me realize how much older everything has become.

I plan to keep the monitor I currently have or consider purchasing an OLED TV instead. The mouse and keyboard will remain, as will the speakers.

Living in rural Iowa means there are few brick-and-mortar stores nearby. I prefer Amazon because they offer a 5% cashback on purchases with their card, but I’m open to other trusted retailers as well.

Think about getting a 4K display soon. Right now I don’t have it, but I’m hoping to snag an LG OLED at a good price soon. I’ve been eyeing a 77-inch C2 and might consider a 48-inch C2 later.

How near are you to this screen? If you're in another room, adjust to 1080, boost the frame rate and clarity to the maximum and relish it. Your setup remains impressively good.

If it were me, I’d attempt to sell this entire computer in the neighborhood. And I’d put that surplus money toward boosting your budget. Hope you’re getting what you require.

for 4k, i would say 7900XT as the minimum. 4080 is out of budget.
so thats a new GPU and PSU as 650W wont be enough.

I would say wait for i7 14700 launch and then upgrade the CPU.
reuse rams and get a B760 DDR4 mobo and new CPU cooler bracket for LGA 1700.
