Hi! You're using the TP-Link TL-SG605 switch, which is a solid choice. To expand your knowledge, switches are devices that connect multiple networks together and can be upgraded for better performance or additional features like VLAN support, higher port density, or integration with smart home systems.

You're asking about the missing capabilities of this switch and whether it offers managed features or faster performance.

Upgrading a switch depends on your requirements and budget. The one you have appears suitable for someone who uses it regularly. To understand switches better, consider a managed switch. Otherwise, there’s little to learn unless you’re interested in unmanaged (standard) switches, which mainly expand network ports.

There are plenty of ports available now that they're filled in. For me, the important thing is the speed, because I'm using CAT 7 cables. I'm not sure if a 6-port switch exists!

Obtain an 8 or 12-port switch. Existing models of the one in use are available. You can link switches together via patch cables for up-uplinking.
