Hello, everyone considering upgrades for improved FPS. I have several components: AMD Ryzen 3 4300G with Radeon Graphics at 3.80 GHz, Crucial Pro DDR4 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) at 3200MHz, Crucial P3 Plus SSD 2TB M.2, Nvidia 1030gt. I'm evaluating switching to a Ryzen 7 5700X and an RTX 3050 6G, but wondering if this will offer the best performance boost or if a complete rebuild is better.

There's some life in the AM4 platform as the price of memory and Mobo will be expensive if you want to go to AM5 platform. The biggest bottleneck is the gpu. The rtx 3050 6g is not that good because of the 6gb of memory. There's plenty of Rx 580 8gb of memory for less than $100 or if you want a faster GPU get an rx6600. Yes if you can get the 5700x and if you can get the 5800x if it is not that expensive.

Some games are restricted by graphics capabilities, such as fast action shooters.
Others are constrained by CPU speed, like strategy, sims, and multiplayer games.
Multiplayer usually benefits from more threads.
You must determine which one suits you best.
